Ambassadors for our faith in Jeshua

Centuries ago there was a Nazarene man who walked miles and miles to speak about the Elohim Hashem Jehovah and about the lechem haChayyim (bread of life) which had come down to earth to bring salvation for mankind.

Luke 8:1 (TS98)

Luke 8
1 And it came to be, afterward, that He went through every city and village, proclaiming and bringing the Good News of the reign of Elohim, and the twelve were with Him,

John 18:37 (TS98)
37 Then Pilate said to Him, “You are a sovereign, then?” יהושע answered, “You say it, because I am a sovereign. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Several people where astonished by the way of speaking of this man and by his miracles. The first century after he was impaled there was no problem at all for people to enter the Jewish sectThe Way” . But when more and more goyim entered that group of followers of Jeshua several Jews found it not opportune to join such mixed group. After that several leaders of the expanded group agreed to go with the Roman leaders their wishes and to introduce the “Trinity“, Christendom became representing a religious group no sincere Jew would associate with.

Though we may not forget that there were always sincere followers of Jeshua who not at all wanted to follow such false teachings of a three-une god. Because of trinitarians becoming the largest unit in Christendom, many Jews did not see the religious groups of Christianity who kept to the God of Israel.

Even for some of those Christians who followed the teachings of Jeshua it was difficult to accept Jews in their community. Several of true followers of Jeshua also did not distinguish between “Judaising”, which the New Testament condemns, and “Jewishness”, which the New Testament celebrates.

These days luckily more people start to see how certain people always shall keep the right to stay on the first line as the chosen people of God. They come to see that they should not encourage Jewish disciples of Jesus to forsake their God-given Jewish identity.
On the Jewish site there are still lots of “borders” and “stumble blocks”. One of the most difficult obstacles that Messianic Jews have had to overcome in their journey to faith has been the claim from the Jewish community that it is impossible to believe in Jesus (Jeshua) and be Jewish.

We must known that always the true believers in Jeshua and in his God shall be a small group. Though in Scriptures is told that coming closer to the end times more people shall witness about Jehovah and shall tell about the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God.

Jews, from the beginning of times, have received the task to keep to the Law of God, but also to show others how we should segregate from the sinful world. Also the non-Jews who wanted to become real followers of Jeshua, came to understand how seclusion from the heathen is essential to become a partaker of the righteous people in Christ.

The Nazarene master teacher asked to repent and to convert from sin to Christ. Faithful Jews who want to tread in Jeshua’s footsteps do know the importance of the task Jeshua has given to his followers, namely to go out in the world and to let people know the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God.

All people who want to follow in the path of Jeshua not only have to take a leaf out of Jeshua’s book but have to open their mouth and proclaim that Jeshua (Jesus) is the way. That telling about Jeshua and his God has to be done in such a way that no body takes offence.

1 Corinthians 10:32 (TS98)
32 Cause no stumbling, either to the Yehuḏim or to the Greeks or to the assembly of Elohim,

At all times when speaking for the Elohim this has to be done with the Words of Him in the back of the mind.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (TS98)
16 All Scripture is breathed by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.

As it was for Jeshua also for his followers that Word of the Elohim should be the Light bearer.

Psalms 119:105 (TS98)
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

We have come in a time where it is urgent to be an ambassador for our faith, which means we also do have to be an ambassador for Jeshua making his name known.

Hebrews 13:15 (TS98)
15 Through Him then, let us continually offer up a slaughter offering of praise to Elohim, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name.

Jews and non-Jews who want to follow Jeshua have to follow his teachings as well as fulfil the tasks he had given to his followers. By their faith in Jeshua and by their works of faith they shall be able to receive salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 (TS98)
9 That if you confess with your mouth the Master יהושע and believe in your heart that Elohim has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, and so is saved.

The world has to know that no-one can come to the Father – the God of Israel – except through Jeshua.

John 14:6 (TS98)
6 יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jeshuaists and/or Messianic Jews also should seek to share this way, this truth, and this life with their Jewish brothers and sisters, but also should get goyim to come to hear this truth.

John 14:23-24 (TS98)
23 יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. 24 “He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.

Keeping Jeshua’s words is also telling others about the great works that man, who had received authority from God, has done. Every follower of Jeshua should belong to the “Shelachim” or “sent ones”, the ones who proclaim the Good News and teach all nations to come to baptise many people.

Matthew 28:18-20 (TS98)
18 And יהושע came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit, 20 teaching them to guard all that I have commanded you. And see, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Amĕn.

We are not all sent to the same places. All of us have our own surroundings and different cultures. Some of us have the opportunity to go to several places in the world. Others have not such an opportunity to go to different nations, but that should not keep them to go to different regions and some to cities. Most of us are sent to those around us; our immediate circle of influence. And we must not mistake the importance of that. It is just as valuable and important for us to be obedient to the Lord when we are sent to only those in our everyday circle. Every life is important.

Our social, theological and philosophical paradigms have become subject to both new and old thought, which may have previously been ignored, if at all considered. Rather than retreat into the safe and sure fortresses of our immediate past, we must courageously, yet wisely, engage and interact with our dramatically changing world.

Those sent around could be seen as ambassadors. Writing to the Corinthians, Paul likens his own calling to that of an ambassador, and he urges all followers of Jeshua to consider themselves ambassadors for Christ. With the love of Christ we should judge nobody and show to all our love for them and for Christ and his heavenly Father. All things which are of the Elohim יהוה, who has reconciled us to himself by Jeshua the Messiah, we should show to others around us.  As ambassadors for the Messiah, as though Elohim were entreating the world by us we should try others to come to be reconciled to יהוה in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (TS98)
14 For the love of Messiah compels us, having judged this: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them, and was raised. 16 So from now onwards we know no one according to the flesh. And if we have known Messiah according to the flesh, yet now we no longer know Him thus. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a renewed creature – the old matters have passed away, see, all matters have become renewed! 18 And all matters are from Elohim, who has restored us to favour with Himself through יהושע Messiah, and has given us the service of restoration to favour, 19 that is, that Elohim was in Messiah restoring the world to favour unto Himself, not reckoning their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of restoration to favour. 20 Therefore we are envoys on behalf of Messiah, as though Elohim were pleading through us. We beg, on behalf of Messiah: Be restored to favour with Elohim. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.

Let us get up from our own easy position from our living room and as messengers for God and His son and let others know that God’s word is the only “belief system” in which the promise of a Saviour from all our sin was presented from the very beginning — was explained and prophesied through many different prophets over thousands of years — and was all beautifully and perfectly fulfilled in that one Nazarene man, Jeshua (Jesus Christ).

Going through this world we should show others that we belong to an other world, which has much more to offer than this corrupt world. As such we are to be representatives of the Kingdom of God. We also have to work to build relations and develop policies that favour both the “host and the home of the ambassador”. As an ambassador we must walk a very fine line, embodying the character of the “home country” we are representing.

If we are to represent Jeshua to the world, we naturally must first belong to the Kingdom of God instead of the place where we are living or sojourning. As a representative of Jeshua we must live by the standards of our “King“, even though we are temporarily away from him (vss. 6-9). Being always of good courage we shall not feel it a burden to go out to witness for Jehovah.  Even if we are imprisoned and abused by our host country we shall try to be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, making sure that we escape from the corruption in this world, caused by lust, knowing that our labour in Jeshua is not in vain (Ephesians 6:20).

2 Corinthians 5:5-8 (TS98)
5 Now He who has prepared us for this same purpose is Elohim, who has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Master – 7 for we walk by belief, not by sight – 8 we are of good courage, and are well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Master.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (TS98)
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Master, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Master.

With the knowledge that by the love of Christ we are shown the Way to God and have been reconciled to God through him. He asked his followers to continue his work, to give up certain matters to make place for the work of God. As such we too have like the apostles to come to stand in the place of that set-apart sent one from God and reconcile others, in light of the truth that God has committed to every born-again believer the ministry of reconciliation.

The reconciled have to become the reconcilers, and so the exchange goes on.

Luke 14:32-33 (TS98)
32 “And if not, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace. 33 “So, then, everyone of you who does not give up all that he has, is unable to be My taught one.

2 Corinthians 5--20
